Avcol Students Win Shakespeare Festival

On Sunday 30th March, over 50 students travelled to Kristin school to perform in the West Auckland SGCNZ Victoria University of Wellington Shakespeare Festival. Five student-directed scenes and three teacher-directed scenes from Avcol went up against a high calibre of performances from Kristin and Western Springs College. Our Drama Academy students' compilation from Macbeth, directed by Miss Sophie Kettley, won Best Costume Design. And a hilarious scene from Love's Labours' Lost, directed by Ms Rita Stone, was selected as the best 15-minute scene. Starring Year 13 students Liam Presling, Arlo Lorien King, Jalana Jayawardena and Isaac Yeh, the group will travel to Wellington over King's Birthday weekend to represent Avondale College and the West Auckland Region at the National Festival.
