On Tuesday afternoon, some of Avondale College’s Polyfest groups had a visit from Minister Paul Goldsmith, the Minister for Culture and Heritage. This visit was part of a documentary being filmed for TVNZ Plus to mark the 50th anniversary of Polyfest.
Three of our student leaders had the opportunity to guide the Minister through the school’s after-school rehearsals. During the visit, they spoke about what Polyfest means to them and discussed the importance of securing greater government funding for the festival.
We look forward to watching the two-part documentary when it airs in the coming weeks. It’s a great chance to see our students involved in this meaningful conversation!
Polyfest takes place at the Manukau Sports Bowl from 2-5 April.
