Avondale College's many sporting highlights, successes and top sportsmen and sportswomen were celebrated at Thursday evening's Sports Awards event held in the Avondale College theatre. Guest speaker and professional rugby player Bryce Heem, himself a former Avondale College student, shared his own personal story of tenacity as a rugby player, both in New Zealand and overseas, as a 15s player, a 7s player, a Commonwealth medalist, and now with the Blues. Silver Fern, and Avcol alumna Grace Nweke also gave her congratulations to our national netball champions via video message.

The evening concluded with valedictory speeches from Deputy Head Prefect and 1st XV co-captain, Pat'oneil Lalau Afioga, and Head Prefect and Premier Netballer, Adele Tamua.
